AsianFin – The first artificial intelligence model tailored for the nonferrous metals industry, named “Kun’an,” was officially unveiled in Beijing on December 26. The launch event was co-hosted by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and the Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco).
Li Jiancheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Central South University, emphasized during the event that AI applications have become a driving force for the high-quality development of the nonferrous metals sector.
The Kun’an AI model integrates tens of billions of data points and specialized knowledge from the nonferrous metals industry. It boasts capabilities including natural language processing, image processing, prediction, and scientific solvers. These features aim to revolutionize business processes across all aspects of the industry, including geological exploration, mineral extraction, smelting, processing, and recycling.
The introduction of Kun’an marks a significant step toward leveraging artificial intelligence to advance innovation and efficiency in one of China’s critical industrial sectors.
