China's ridehailing giant Didi acquires auto after-service startup Hiservice

Xiaoju Automobile Solutions has acquired Hiservice in less than one week after being injected an investment of USD 1 billion. This demonstrates DiDi Chuxing's ambition to expedite its D-alliance strategy and expand in the auto after market.

Xiaoju Automobile Solutions (XAS), a one-stop auto solutions platform owned by Didi Chuxing, announced on August 14 that it has acquired Hiservice, an online-to-offline auto after-service company. Hiservice will merge with XAS’ maintenance and repair unit to form Xiaoju Auto Care, which will be co-led by Yi Yinbo, former head of China's ridehailing giant DiDi’s auto care unit, and Qian Cheng, founder of Hiservice.

DiDi announced that its auto solutions platform was upgraded to "Xiaoju Automobile Solutions" with an investment of USD 1 billion on August 8th. The establishment of Xiaoju Automobile Solutions is an important move of DiDi to achieve its D-alliance strategy. An auto after market brand of DiDi, Xiaoju Automobile Solutions mainly provides auto care, fast repair, car care, auto insurance and online car hailing services for DiDi car owners and other car owners. Hiservice and Xiaoju Automobile Solutions share similar business logic and layout in building a new service ecosystem for car owners.

The Shanghai-based Hiservice is an online-to-offline auto service platform established in 2015. It specializes in vehicle maintenance, car care and repair, insurance and used car sale services. The platform adopts all-round operation modes including online reservation, community shops and door-to-door services.

Xiaoju Auto Care now has 28 physical shops in seven cities across eastern, southern and middle-western China.
