According to Sensor Tower, Alibaba-owned mobile app UC Browser is listed fifth in the global mobile app download ranking both for App Store and Google Play in Q1 2018. The rank is higher than other international apps such as Snapchat, YouTube and Netflix.

With over 600 million quarterly active users, UC Browser's download growth is mainly attributed to its efforts in the overseas market, especially in Southeast Asia. The mobile Internet market is still at the developing stage in Southeast Asia.

Southeast Asia has a total population of about 600 million. Most of the Southeast Asian countries are following the route that China's Internet industry has experienced five or even ten years ago. Southeast Asia has huge demographic dividend and enormous market scale. As UC Browser entered this market at an earlier time, it has got preemptive advantages in the market.

With its preemptive advantages in Southeast Asia, UC Browser is also developing the business for its innovative products other than browser product. For instance, since launched in India and Indonesia in 2016, UC News has become the fastest growing news app in the two countries with about 100 million monthly active users.
